Five Generations of Belmanta Boxers

The Belmanta Story

There were two boxers in the area where I grew up.  My brothers and I used to make them follow us home.  From this association, a love and devotion for boxers grew, which endures today.

My mother gave my first boxer to me as a birthday present. Her name was Brinfawn Montrose (Marella).  That was in 1967.  Marella won first prize at a small country fair and from that day my interest in showing began.

With my love for boxers undiminishing, 1970 saw Ch. Beau Jenn Bronze Idol (Belvedere) purchased for me by my brother, followed by Ch. Linkent Ballard (Samantha) in 1971, brought to complement Belvedere.

The 'Belmanta' kennel prefix originated from the petnames of these two boxers.

Belvedere and Samantha produced Ch. Belmanta Catch the Dawn (Dawn) who in turn produced Belmanta Busy Bein' Bossy (Bossy).  Ch. Beau Jenn Back in Town (Josie) was purchased to complement Bossy and they produced Belmanta Brazen Hussy (Pike').  View Pikes' first photo here.

Pike' whelped to Ch. Skelder Game Chip (Imp. U.K.) producing our top winning boxer to date Ch. Belmanta Thief of Hearts (Murdoch), a multi group and specialty show winner.  Murdoch sired Australia's first Grand Champion Taratan Summer Rain (Radin), who in turn sired CH Belmanta Bells 'n Whistles (Elliott).

These boxers are the foundation of our present day kennel.
